Zircon has announced two key appointments as it continues to expand production at its Mindarie mineral sands project in South Australia.
Giga Bedineishvili is welcomed to the Board as a non-executive director and Richard Fagan has been appointed as general manager of operations.
Bedineishvili is currently the director of business development for DCM Decometal and has a strong business and global finance background.
Fagan has 30 years experience in the resources industry with a strong metallurgical engineering background and has worked with leading mineral sands equipment suppliers.
Zircon managing director Johann van Zyl said the appointments will play a valuable role in the company’s continued development and are part of a ramp-up program.
Australian Zircon has been steadily increasing production at Mindarie, with its expansion program now 80% complete.
The company is hoping to reach its targeted annualised production rate of 35,000tpa by June 2009.
