Wilcherry Hill fast-tracked

IronClad Mining will fast track the development of the Wilcherry Hill Iron Ore Project on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, by focusing on near surface, Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) grade magnetite iron ore.

In a statement released today, the company said its immediate objective is to define enough DSO grade iron ore to enable production to commence early.

Near surface high-grade DSO material has been found at both the Weednanna and Weednanna North prospects and will be quantified by further drilling, the company said.

IronClad also recently discovered outcropping ironstone over a strike length of 150 metres at Ultima Dam West.

Six samples taken from along the outcrop returned an average grade of 60.1% iron, the company said.

According to Ironclad, the area defined by the outcrop and the aeromagnetic anomaly at Ultima Dam West represents the strongest magnetic signature within the entire Wilcherry Hill Project area.

In December last year, independent consultants Golder and Associates described the Dam West prospect as an area of additional significant potential for high quality crystalline iron ore resources.

A drill rig will shortly begin work to study the prospect.
