Hydraulic systems exist in almost every aspect of our everyday lives. This simple system consisting of pistons and oil-filled pipe is capable of generating tremendous amount of force; enough to cause permanent disabilities or even death of a person when an accident occurs.

As hydraulic machinery degrades over time, they should be properly maintained to avoid accidents and increase their operational life. In doing so, hydraulic technicians should be properly trained in hydraulic safety before commencing any work or maintenance action.
