HDPE: Stealing uses for steel

High-density polyethylene, or HDPE, has made its debut into the mining industry a few years ago. Its benefits over steel fall broadly into three main categories: increased safety, lowered maintenance requirements and improved eco-friendliness.

This third category is seeing significant environmental benefits with entire HDPE componentry now being 100 per cent recyclable. As well, the proportion of recycled material used in the manufacture of these new HDPE components is now also increasing.

As more and more examples of conveying componentry made from HDPE populate mine sites and processing plants, it is now possible to increase the amount of recycled and recyclable plastics used in these products.

This white paper discusses how it is now becoming possible to increase the amount of recycled and recyclable plastics used in these new HDPE products, increasing their sustainability.
