Manufactured at Sandvik’s specialised mechanical cutting facility in Zeltweg, Austria, the Sandvik MC431 continuous miner has now been assembled and commissioned by local technical teams at their Heatherbrae facility in New South Wales.
The arrival of this Australian-first denotes Sandvik’s ongoing commitment to advancing mechanical cutting solutions and supporting the evolving needs of the underground mining market.
Purpose-built for demanding underground conditions, the Sandvik MC431 continuous miner features 400 kW of installed cutting capacity, hydraulic traction and shear-up capability, enabling consistent, high-performance cutting in some of the industry’s most challenging environments.
The machine’s double-pass configuration enables efficient full-profile excavation, optimising material removal while maintaining dimensional accuracy in confined headings, where precision and productivity are critical.
