Swift Networks to keep Ichthys entertained

Communications company Swift Networks has won a contract to supply a broad suite of services, including entertainment content, connectivity and related support to the INPEX-operated Ichthys liquefied natural gas (LNG) project offshore Western Australia.

The agreement will see Perth-based Swift provide and manage the vessel’s suite of connectivity, digital entertainment, and related support and ongoing maintenance services for three years.

Swift will deliver content, services and support to accommodation and common facilities for the project’s central processing facility and floating production, storage and offloading facility, including wireless internet via subsea optical fibre cable, digital entertainment such as movies, pay TV and free-to-air content, and maintenance and support with a 24×7 helpdesk.

Chief executive officer Xavier Kris said Swift looked forward to supporting Ichthys, where it helped to design and construct the systems that keep INPEX’s offshore personnel entertained, informed and connected.

“We are proud to support INPEX for the next three years and look forward to helping workers at Ichthys to stay in touch wih their friends and families, enjoy great entertainment and benefit from an ultra high-speed communications link,” Kris said.
