Schlam appoints new CEO

Diversified mining and engineering service provider Schlam has announced the appointment of a new executive chair and group chief executive officer.

David Haslett’s appointment was elected by Schlam’s board of directors. If elected, Haslett would lead all the Schlam Group’s companies, such as Payload Australia, People Solutions and Schlam Americas.

Haslett has extensive experience in leading global companies to success as a chief executive officer, executive chair and as an operating partner within the private equity sector.

Most recently, Haslett led the growth of CR Mining from a small regional Australian company to a respected global supplier of world-leading mining technologies over the course of ten years.

Haslett first joined the company board in July 2021, and has since provided direction and leadership across all levels of the company. It is expected that as Haslett moves towards a more hands on executive leadership position, the momentum will continue.

Commenting on his new job, Haslett said he was thrilled to be taking on the new position.

“I’m delighted to lead an inclusive, visionary and values-based leadership group – one that has a deep level of industry experience and a respected track record of success,” Haslett said.

“Success for Schlam has come from a strong cultural ideology, centred on ensuring the customer experience is exceptional. I’m committed to helping Schlam build on that exceptional operating culture.”

Schlam founding director Ryan Schlam said the company board are delighted that Haslett has committed to leading the company for the next few years.
