RPM inks mining software distribution deal with Accenture

Mining technology provider RPMGlobal has entered a master software subscription licence and software agreement with Accenture subsidiary Proquire to provide RPM services via the subscription-based Accenture Connected Mine Suite.

The deal will significantly broaden RPM’s potential user base in the mining industry; the offered products will include RPM’s XECUTE planning and scheduling software.

RPM chief executive officer and managing director Richard Mathews said that the company was pleased to make the agreement with a “true recognised global leader in digital transformation. RPM’s products will now be made available to the mining industry through the Accenture Connected Mine offering.

“Working together, Accenture and RPM can bring mine engineering insight together with operational acumen into one central system for analysis and decision making.”

Accenture’s Connected Mine solution utilises Microsoft Azure cloud services to bring disparate technologies across mobile, cloud and analytics together into a unified display, making mine operations easier to manage. Information from the solution can then be utilised to quickly deliver visualisations and recommendations to users via mobile or tablet.

Mathews stressed the importance of XECUTE in particular to the agreement, saying its integration into Connected Mine would allow mine planners and supervisors to monitor real-time data relating to operating performance.

“This insight will facilitate the ability for end users to predict end-of-period outcomes so they can adjust their plans mid-shift if needed,” he explained. “If a change is warranted the system will distribute the new plan to the team in the mine in real time. The system will also monitor activity in the mine and will alert the user to potential safety risks.”
