Neousys Technology, an industry-leading provider of rugged embedded systems, announces the SEMIL-1700 series, one of the world’s first half-rack IP67-rated waterproof fanless computers.
Powered by an Intel Xeon or 9th/ 8th-Gen core CPU (central processing unit), it supports up to 64GB of ECC (error correcting code) DDR4 (double data rate) memory, has one of the best-in-class thermal designs and patented SuperCAP power backup module, making it the ideal computer for autonomous mining vehicles such as for dump trucks, loaders, excavators, etc.
The design of the SEMIL-1700 is intended to meet deployment environment needs with its IP67 rating against high humidity; stainless steel and aluminum chassis to fend off corrosion; MIL-STD-810G certification to operate in continuous shock and vibration environments; wide-range -25 degrees celsius and 70 degrees celsius operation capable without performance degradation; and half-rack dimensions so you can rack mount dual systems side-by-side or a single system with a dedicated bracket.
It is ideal for autonomous mining vehicles that are constantly exposed under the weather and operate in extreme conditions to offer personnel safety, 24/7 productivity, predictive maintenance, operation cost reductions, and more.
Utilising robust M12 connectors that are cost-effective, reliable and available off-the-shelf, the SEMIL-1700 offers up to eight 802.3at Gigabit PoE+ (power over Ethernet), VGA (video graphics array), USB (universal service bus), COM ports (communication ports) and an optional 10G Ethernet. Internal expansion-wise, SEMIL-1700 features an M.2 slot for NVMe SSD (solid state drive) and two internal 2.5″ SATA SSD/ HDD (hard disk drive) slots.
It is compatible with 8-48V wide-range DC (direct current) input with ignition power control and complies with MIL-STD-810G and EN 50155 to ensure reliable system operation in continuous shock and vibration environments.
To top it off, you can choose a SEMIL-1700 variant equipped with Neousys’ innovative SuperCAP-based UPS (uninterruptible power supply) containing 2500 watt-second stored energy to sustain or safely shut down the system during unforeseen power outages.
