Resources Victoria talks critical minerals in Ballarat

Resources

Resources Victoria is locked in as the Geoscience Partner at this year’s Australian Institute of Geoscientists’ (AIG) Victorian Minerals Round-up in Ballarat, Victoria.

The annual conference, hosted by AIG’s Victorian chapter, will be held on June 27–28 2024 at the Ballarat Goods Shed.

Bringing together representatives from across the minerals sector, the event aims to provide an opportunity to promote Resources Victoria’s geoscience programs and the ongoing work of the Geological Survey of Victoria.

“Resources Victoria is proud to be supporting this important conference, which focuses on industry best practice across a range of exploration and mining disciplines,” Resources Victoria chief executive officer Matt Vincent said.

“Not only will there be exciting updates from … geoscientists, there will also be opportunities to seek advice on exploration reporting requirements.

“It is fitting to be talking about the new wave of minerals development in Ballarat, where many of Victoria’s earliest gold discoveries were made.”

Critical minerals will be front and centre at the conference, with Victoria having proven deposits of titanium, zirconium and rare earth elements.

There are also other opportunities across the state for other minerals and precious metals including gold, antimony, copper, high-purity alumina and silica.

The AIG is a leading professional institute representing geoscientists. The event partnership aims to connect Resources Victoria to key players in the minerals sector and exploration teams across the state.
