THE Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME) has developed new secondary science teaching resources in partnership with the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA), and Perth’s Presbyterian Ladies College (PLC).
The Digital Science Learning Resources (DSLR) series features ten CDs, covering biology, chemistry, physics and earth sciences.
The resource is to be used for years 8 to 10 of secondary school.
Each CD includes key concepts, diagrams, teaching movies, audio segments, web links and questions.
The CDs can be used directly by students and by teachers to support science education.
The partnership between CME, MCA and PLC Perth is aimed at helping teachers make science engaging and relevant to students, according to CME director Reg Howard-Smith.
Every WA secondary school is entitled to one free set of DSLR CDs.
