MAPTEK will join other suppliers in co-sponsoring an AMIRA research project focusing on mine design and schedule optimisation tools.
AMIRA International Ltd is an independent association of minerals companies which facilitates research projects.
Maptek will provide licences, training and support to the project.
According to the company, the project aims to develop efficient computational methods when infrastructure branching is needed for distributed ore zones.
The company will join Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton in the project.
