Regis expands gold exploration momentum at Duketon and Tropicana

Regis Resources has highlighted a broad pipeline of exploration opportunities across its Duketon, McPhillamys and Tropicana operations, with drilling continuing to strengthen confidence in underground and open pit growth projects.

The company said exploration activities during the first half of the year focused on advancing priority targets, improving geological understanding and assessing longer-term development opportunities across its portfolio.

Regis managing director and chief executive officer Jim Beyer said the company was progressing almost 100 exploration prospects and projects at varying stages of maturity.

“Regis holds a significant pipeline of opportunities, with almost 100 exploration prospects and projects at varying stages of maturity the subject of prioritised evaluation and testing across our portfolio,” Beyer said.

“It is very pleasing to see our exploration teams continuing to make solid progress across our key assets.”

At the Duketon gold project in Western Australia, Regis declared an initial open pit Mineral Resource at Beamish South of 7 million tonnes at 1.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold for 270,000 ounces, reported within an A$3900 per ounce pit shell.

Beyer said the company was encouraged by the initial resource and planned to continue drilling to expand the deposit and assess its potential to support a future Ore Reserve.

“Ongoing drilling at Garden Well, Rosemont and Ben Hur continues to demonstrate the opportunity within the Duketon portfolio and we remain confident in our long-term underground growth pipeline,” he said.

Recent drilling at Garden Well confirmed strong mineralisation within existing resources and up to 500 metres down plunge, while results at King of Creation supported expected down-plunge continuity. At Rosemont Stage 3, drilling confirmed the quartz-dolerite host unit extends around 300 metres south of the current design envelope. Drilling at Ben Hur remains ongoing, with results reinforcing its potential as an underground opportunity.

At the McPhillamys gold project in New South Wales, drilling at the nearby Kings Plains prospect, less than 2 km from the proposed operation, confirmed gold mineralisation extending to at least 180 metres below surface. Additional work and further drilling are planned to assess the potential for an economic open pit resource.

Exploration at the Tropicana gold operation also returned encouraging results. Drilling at Boston Shaker extended mineralisation down plunge, while diamond drilling at Tropicana Underground increased confidence in known mineralisation to the south and at depth.

Surface drilling at Havana South also delivered promising results, with ongoing work targeting the down-plunge extension of the Havana Underground deposit and infilling Inferred Mineral Resources.

“These results, including the initial Kings Plain depth extension testing, continue to validate our exploration strategy and reinforce our belief in the quality and scale of Regis’ asset base,” Beyer said.

“We see meaningful potential to grow our resource base and continue to extend mine life across the business.”
