RAW awards entry deadline extended

THE closing date for entries in this year’s Resources Awards for Women has been extended.

Entries will now close on Monday 11 February.

The awards provide recognition to outstanding women in the sector and to companies who excel in the attraction and retention of women.

Past winners have been excellent role models, mentors and ambassadors for women in the industry.

So if this sounds like you, or your company has an excellent initiative it wants to share, download the entry forms now.

The awards will be presented by the Minister for Child Safety and Women Margaret Keech at the QRC’s International Women’s Day breakfast on Friday 7 March.

Compereing the event will be multi-award-winning ABC science writer and broadcaster Bernie Hobbs.

The breakfast, which also provides a networking opportunity for women in the industry, and the awards are part of the QRC’s Women in Resources Action Plan (WRAP).

WRAP is in response to the skills shortage faced by the sector, and aims to double the percentage of women in non-traditional roles by 2020.

Currently the proportion of women in these roles is 7%.
