Semco releases trenchers

Semco has released two new model trenchers, the RT 1000 and RT 1200.

With both featuring trencher flywheels to minimise trencher stall after pressure due to tough digging conditions, the new models incorporate a torsion shaft that absorbs shock loads from the driveline, while planetary gears multiply the hydrostatic motor torque for maximum digging power.

Under heavy loads, this torsion shaft can provide up to one and a half full turns without breaking, and is able to maintain the load upon the cutting teeth and insulating the hydrostatic system from shock loads.

Load Control is another function that allows the operator to command the machine to automatically adjust the power settings for production through varying ground conditions.

A four-wheel / three mode steering allows for high manoeuverability and the crab steering feature is useful on slopes for maintaining stability while trenching.

With a tool carrier modular chassis design it provides flexibility on site, allowing the machines to be configured with a variety of attachments.

These attachments include a trencher, vibratory plough, backfill blade backhoe and rock saw.
An optional foldable ROPS frame for the backhoe version is also available.

The machines have a hydrostatic ground drive, with a separate hydrostatic attachment drive providing speed viability for greater footage for trenching or ploughing.

An optional backhoe comes with two lever wobble stick controls.

Power is provided to the RT1000 by a Cummins 74KW 3.3 four cylinder turbo diesel tier 3 stage IIIA engine.

The RT 1200 has a 90.23 KW engine.

The trenching depth of both machines is 2130mm.
