Russell Fraser Sales is distributing the new Cygnus CygScope R and RD ultrasonic listening devices from Cygnus Instruments.
According to the supplier, the Cygnus CygScope R and RD devices can dramatically reduce energy and maintenance costs.
The ultrasonic listening devices are designed to identify leaks and locate even the smallest leakage in steam traps, compressed air and vacuum systems.
The units use ultrasound to detect the noise produced by escaping air or gas.
Russell Fraser Sales says these instruments can be used to detect early signs of arcing from electrical equipment, control panels and cabinets and overhead power transmission cables.
A range of probes is available to either scan large industrial areas for leaks or pinpoint a leak in a specific valve or fitting.
An included Parabolic Probe can accurately detect leaks over 20 m away with the aid of the integrated red dot rifle sight.
The CygScope R has a built-in loudspeaker and LED level display that can audibly and visually alert the user to leakages.
The CygScope RD, in addition, comes with a digital LCD readout to allow comparative measurements to be taken for regular maintenance checks over given periods.
