Photometer analyses wastewater

Macherey-Nagel has released the 500 D, the latest in its Nanocolor range of photometers for water and wastewater analysis.

According to the company, the product is manufactured under ISO 9001 discipline from a high quality of optical components.

The product uses a laser to scan bar-coded test tubes and thus automatically select the correct wavelength and program for a given test without any assistance from the instrument’s operator.

Other photometers require the operator to perform these functions via the keypad.

Unlike more conventional photometers, the product does not require the operator to cover the cuvettes to prevent interference from stray light.

According to the manufacturer, the photometer has over 100 programmed tests and 200 analysis programs.

The instrument can be programmed for 99 user-defined applications, does both calibrations and functional tests automatically and provides all the basic professional photometric functions.

The product is distributed nationally by Vendart.
