Vanton releases close coupled pump

Vanton has unveiled its latest thermoplastic pump, the Sump-Gard SGK PY800SP.

The pump features a close coupled, cantilevered shaft, which reduces headroom requirements and eliminates immersed bearings.

By having a hard coupling of the drive shaft to the motor shaft, it reduces the height above the mounting plate by about 50%, and this then allows the pump to fit into compact and restricted areas that are commonly encountered in replacement and OEM applications, while at the same time also lowering the pump’s centre of gravity.

In using a cantilevered, large diameter shaft, it has eliminated the need for immersed bearings which are prone to fail in acidic, abrasive and caustic applications, while allowing run dry operations with no damage to the pump.

All of the wetted components, including the heavy wall shaft sleeve, are molded from solid polypropylene, PVDF or CPVC, which aids in eliminating corrosion that is typically associated with pumps constructed from stainless steel and high alloys, as well as delamination and wicking related to plastic lined and fibregalss pumps.

On top of this, as all the wetted surfaces are chemically inert, the pumps are also rated for handling reagent grade chemicals, high purity water and other fluids that must remain free of contaminations.
The pumps are available in lengths up to 1.2 metres, with motor power of 37kW.

It can handle flows of up to 3028 lpm and heads of 55 metres at temperatures up to 135°C.
Impellers come in closed and semi-closed configurations.

Semrad releases microwave sensor

Semrad has launched the WADECO MWS-ST/SR type microwave sensor for blocked chute and pipe detection.

The transmitter emits a continual low power microwave beam towards the receiver and an output relay is released when the beam is obstructed.

It can be used for applications such as the detection of blocked chutes, flow/no flow detection, for products on conveyors, as well as the detection of blocked pneumatic conveying pipes and of blocked air slides.

The sensor has a completely non invasive installation, meaning there is no disruption to material flow and allows the process to remain closed.

It is unaffected by material build up on the antenna head, and now comes with a range of up to 200 metres.

With no moving parts and non contact detection, the sensor has reduced wear and tear, and zero maintenance.

Robotize makes future for used robots

ROBOTIZE have launched a new website, dedicated to the advertisement of used robots and robotic equipment.
The Robotize Marketplace is the newest addition to www.robotize.com.au, Robotize’s Wade Leslie said that the marketplace was developed after client frustration when needing to sell or buy a robot.
"To source a second-hand robot, you were forced to keep scanning loads of auction sites and sift through everything from tractors to pallet trucks to find one or two machines," he says. "The Robotize Marketplace has dozens of robots – and only robots – in one place."
Mr Leslie says that the Robotize Martketplace features reconditioned units complete with guarantees, from Australian Manufacturers who have surplus robots such as ABB.
"Some smaller businesses simply don’t have the budget to invest in the newest technology right away," said Mr Leslie. "A second-hand robot gives them the chance to test the technology before making bigger capital commitments."
"New robots are fast, flexible and more accurate. They are available with productivity enhancements and options, like vision, not found in older robots but there are plenty of applications where a second-hand robot will do the job just as well."
Robotize Marketplace is open to both buyers and sellers, offering a "no sale, no fee" guarantee, said Mr Leslie. You can browse used robots at www.robotize.com.au/marketplace.
