Maptek I-Site 8800 raises the bar for long range laser scanning

The bar for survey instruments has been raised with the Maptek I-Site 8800 extra long range laser scanner. The I-Site 8800 is robust and reliable, fitting in easily with site survey practice. Benefits of the system are far-reaching, covering range, accuracy, speed and battery life.

Maptek developed the I-Site 8800 scanner with usability in mind. Only two known control points are required for set up – one at the scanner location and the other anywhere visible through the telescope. Surveyors can be confident that the data is recorded properly in the field.

The I-Site 8800 is the only 3D laser scanner with an inbuilt 70 megapixel digital camera, with panoramic colour data acquired along with scans.

Structures and lithological features can be digitised directly onto the high resolution digital image onscreen.

The I-Site 8800 creates reliable stockpile volumes and assists with reconciliation for contractor payments.

End of month surveys are fast and easy, and the long range improves safety when scanning in active mining areas.

The I-Site 8800 can even be mounted to site vehicles using a prefabricated mount which means the job gets done even quicker.

The built-in I-Site Studio processing and modelling software underlines Maptek’s experience in developing systems with surveyors in mind.

Data processing is fast and seamless, with tools to filter, model and analyse data at the surveyor’s fingertips.
