Lloyds North has provided long-term dry hire of an excavator and dump truck at a silica deposit in northern Tasmania.
Silica, an abrasive material, is exported for production of LCD television screens.
Lloyds North has been contracted to handle and load the silica for transport to the processing plant.
According to the company, because the equipment was operating with a high workload in a harsh environment, a maintenance solution was required to keep them in good working order.
Lloyds North installed Groeneveld automatic greasing on the excavator and the dump truck.
According to Groeneveld, its system delivers a constantly metered grease application to moving parts, assuring the entire surface of critical components are lubricated.
Under normal greasing, the grease doesn’t stay where it is needed to protect against friction.
