HYTRANS flood pumps

Dutch pump company HYTRANS has announced the release of its Flood Pump and Flood Module at the recent 2009 EU Floodex in the Netherlands.

The Flood Pump is a device designed to assist communities and industries recover from floods through its ability to dewater an area at a maximum rate of 20,000L/min, the company said.

The Flood Module contains three Flood Pumps and, according to HYTRANS, can dewater an area at a rate of 40,000L/min or an average backyard swimming pool every minute.

Both the HYTRANS Flood Pump and Flood Module are powered by the company’s standard diesel-engine-driven hydraulic power packs, called HydroSub.

The pumps can also be used to supply drinking water to populations where the fixed underground drinking water network is out of service or the water treatment plants are flooded and their water contaminated, the company said.

HYTRANS is represented in Australia by Fire Fighting Technologies.
