Honeywell adds to its HPW7000 High-Purity Water Measurement System

Honeywell has announced it has added oxidation reduction potential (ORP) measurement to its HPW7000 High-Purity Water Measurement System, which the company said should enable plants to better maintain critical equipment, reduce capital expenses and lower chemical usage.

According to Honeywell, ORP is a key parameter for minimising corrosion in plant equipment such as turbines and piping.

The HPW7000’s flow chamber and electrode mounting is designed to simplify installation and calibration while providing highly accurate pH level readings, Honeywell said.

Adding the ORP electrode gives plant chemists, plant managers, maintenance engineers and safety and reliability engineers a more-accurate picture of oxidation levels in high-purity water systems where, according to Honeywell, the conductivity of the water samples is less than 10 microsiemens per centimeter.

“Incorporating ORP technology into the HPW7000’s easy-to-use design will ultimately minimise maintenance requirements and improve plant uptime,” Honeywell Process Solutions global product marketing manager Thomas Griffiths said.
