Gas detection solutions

BW Technologies by Honeywell will highlight the GasAlertMicroClip on Stand 2137 at the 2009 NSW Mining & Energy (M&E) exhibition at the Muswellbrook Showground from September 22-24.

The GasAlertMicroClip simultaneously displays the presence of oxygen, hydrogen sulphide, carbon monoxide and Lower Explosive Limit (%LEL) combustibles.

Field-selectable user options allow the GasAlertMicroClip to be customised for virtually any monitoring application including confined space entry, telecommunication vaults and manholes, refinery and petrochemical plants, construction contractors, fire service and fire-ground overhaul monitoring.

“The GasAlertMicroClip offers full function multi-gas performance with the simplicity, compact size and ease-of-use of a disposable gas detector,” BW Technologies’ representative Jason Jones said.

The detector weighs just 160 gm and measures 10.7×6.0x3.7 cm. Powered by an internal lithium polymer battery that provides up to 14 hours of continuous operation on a single charge, the GasAlertMicroClip recharges in less than three hours.

“The small size, long life and high specificity of the sensors mean the detector’s design is sleek, compact and functional,” Jones said.

The GasAlertMicroClip has a rugged, fully immersible, water-resistant housing with a built-in concussion-proof boot.

An IP65/67 rating ensures dust and water resistance.

Other features include an extra-loud audible alarm, flashing LED light bars and a built-in vibrating alarm.

BW Technologies, now a subsidiary of Honeywell International, was established in Canada in1987 to design, manufacture and market gas detection instruments.
