Bonfiglioli showcases heavy industrial drives at QME

Bonfiglioli Transmission Australia will showcase some of the world’s newest and most advanced heavy industrial drives on Stand 1039 during the 2010 Queensland Mining and Engineering (QME) exhibition.

The gearboxes have been engineered for robust service in demanding industries such as mining, ports, sugar, energy and materials handling, and are said to be an ideal choice for severe duty applications where shock loads and impacts are common.

Headlining the Bonfiglioli stand will be the company’s new HD helical drive series and one of its most powerful Trasmital planetary drives.

The HDO160 bevel helical is mounted on a baseplate with fluid coupling brake and electrical motor and has capacities from 14,000-125,000 Nm.

It is the latest addition to Bonfiglioli’s newly designed modular HD series which is produced at the company’s recently commissioned Sydney production and testing line.

Bonfiglioli will also use QME to unveil its powerful planetary drive, the Trasmital 321L5FZ, which offers up to 650,000 Nm of torque for heavy duty applications such as coal thickeners or winches.

A cutaway Trasmital planetary at QME will be used to demonstrate the Trasmital 300 range’s drive train.

Stand 1039 will also feature the latest Bonfiglioli Hi Torque drive which is a combination Trasmital 319 planetary and HDO110 bevel helical specially engineered for slow-moving applications such as shuttle drives, belt feeders, apron feeders, cranes and winches; the HDO140 bevel helical which has a raised split casing to display its rugged internal gears and bearings and which, according to Bonfiglioli, offers outstanding torque per dollar, high casing strength, long-life bearing technology and quieter, trouble-free operation; the HDO alignment-free drive, a cost-effective alternative to a baseplate design, in 100-140 sizes and HDP drives in 60-140 sizes; as well as slew drives and compact winch unit drives.
