Bestech releases Micro-Epsilon P200 long range draw wire sensor

Bestech Australia is supplying the P200 long range draw wire sensor from German manufacturer Micro-Epsilon.

According to the company, the digital draw wire sensor is specially designed for industrial applications in lift engineering, crane systems, forklifts and high bay warehouses.

The displacement sensor comes with measuring ranges of 30, 40 and 50 m.

Linearity is ±0.01% of the full scale output, which translates to only 5 mm for the 50m version, while resolution is one sixth of a millimetre.

The output signals come via either an incremental or absolute encoder and can come with various digital interfaces available.

Bestech Australia says the draw wire displacement sensor measures linear motion by transforming it into a change in resistance by rotation.

The wire is made of highly flexible stainless steel and is wound onto a drum with the aid of a long life spring motor.
