Boasting fewer moving parts, an integrated power system, and robust design Tefol’s Australian made access ladder systems are reducing maintenance costs and improving access safety.
TefSteps are designed, engineered and manufactured in New South Wales, utilising a solid cast metal construction and in house built electrical components.
Providing safe and easy access to heavy machinery, the ladder retracts at the push of a button, parking itself neatly away so as not to interfere with workings.
The ladder’s controls and power supply are seamlessly integrated in to the existing machine, simplifying installation, reducing maintenance and delivering lower downtime rates.
“We’re trying hard to work with industry to save mining costs,” Tefol general manager Simon Montgomery said.
“A lot of other systems require a secondary power source to operate the ladders, we integrate into the machine,” Tefol marketing manager Ben Dolman explained.
Manufacturing quality access systems for heavy earth moving equipment that meet OH&S standards and reduce operator’s lost time injury, Tefol explained they found a gap in the market.
Covering all bases, the TefSteps system activates both internal and external warning alerts before any automated system movement takes place.
TefSteps RS Series ver tical rollup ladder is typically used on wheel loaders and comes in multiple step configurations; while the SL Series swing ladder is normally installed on track tractors and its movement is controlled via a hydraulic cylinder.
The company has also manufacture straight fold ladders for use on large motor graders and excavators, as well as a specialised grader swing ladder for medium sized machines.
With a few runs already on the board in the Australian market, Tefol is now preparing to launch the systems into Chile.
