PNG Expo 2026 has reinforced its position as one of Papua New Guinea’s (PNG) leading industry events, bringing together the mining, resources and industrial sectors for two days of networking, innovation and business development.
Held as a central meeting point for industry, the event attracted more than 900 attendees, featured 100 exhibiting companies and hosted 43 expert speakers, highlighting the continued strength and confidence of PNG’s resources sector.
“The response to PNG Expo 2026 exceeded our expectations and demonstrated just how important this event has become for the country’s mining and industrial sectors,” Prime Creative Media head of marketing – events Molly Hancock said.
“The exhibition brought together the people, technologies and businesses driving PNG’s resources industry, creating an environment where valuable conversations quickly turned into genuine business opportunities.”
The exhibition floor showcased the latest technologies, equipment and services supporting mining and industrial operations, while the conference program encouraged discussions on the opportunities shaping the country’s future.
Mining, resources and heavy industry professionals made up the largest share of attendees, accounting for 40 per cent of visitors. Engineering, technology and industrial solutions represented a further 25 per cent, followed by energy, utilities and infrastructure (15 per cent), manufacturing, supply and services (10 per cent), and government, education, industry bodies and professional services (10 per cent combined).
The event also attracted a strong mix of senior decision-makers. Managers and business leaders accounted for almost half of all registered delegates (47.8 per cent), while C-suite executives represented more than six per cent of attendees, creating valuable opportunities for exhibitors to engage directly with key decision-makers.
“It was particularly encouraging to see such a high proportion of senior decision-makers attending the event,” Hancock said.
“For exhibitors, having direct access to business leaders, technical specialists and executives creates meaningful opportunities to build relationships and generate new work.”
Major mining companies including OK Tedi, Newmont, Harmony Gold, K92, PanAust, and Geopacific Resources were represented alongside leading equipment and technology suppliers, including Komatsu, XCMG, Sandvik and Hastings Deering.
“The diversity and quality of exhibitors and attendees reflected the strength of PNG’s mining industry and the confidence businesses have in its future,” Hancock said.
Beyond the exhibition, PNG Expo continued to spark meaningful conversations, strengthen partnerships, and create new commercial opportunities.
With another successful event complete, PNG Expo has further cemented its reputation as an important platform supporting the ongoing development of PNG’s mining and industrial sectors.
“We’re incredibly proud of what the industry achieved together at PNG Expo 2026, and we’re already looking forward to building on this momentum for future events,” Hancock said.
