Pacific National, BMA sign service agreement

Asciano subsidiary Pacific National has signed a train services agreement with BMA.

The contract will see it support maintenance and daily servicing of the four BMA strain sets planned for use in the Goonyella coal system to the Hay Point coal terminal.

Asciano will use its newly constructed train support facility at Nebo to provide these functions.

The rail haulage company initially announced the construction of the facility, along with other maintenance and provisioning facilities at Waitara, Dysart, and Callemondah, mid last year.

John Mullen, Asciano's CEO said the company is pleased "to have signed this long term agreement with BMA and look forward to the arrival of the first train set in the second half of 2013".
