OZ restructures executive team

OZ Minerals has announced a string of new appointments to its executive team ahead of the proposed Minmetals takeover.

The appointments will downsize the company’s number of senior management positions from nine to six members and delegate specific roles to each executive.

Mick Wilkes, Tony Manini and John Nitschke will head the company’s general management division and Andrew Coles and Francesca Lee will manage finances and general counsel.

Andrew Michelmore will retain his position as CEO.

The appointments are subject to the proposed transaction with Minmetals, which is dependant on regulatory approvals and final shareholder consent on 11 June 2009.

The appointments are effective immediately on completion of the Minmetals transaction.
