There are less than 50 welds to complete on the Australia Pacific LNG pipeline project, and Origin has not yet confirmed rumours that 500 workers were taken off the project this month.
The rumours were published by the Gladstone Observer this morning.
The project will be demobilised in a staged process, and all principle contractors were made aware of the plans to man down in preparation for the end of the project.
Project operator Origin Energy have been contacted this morning for further comment.
