WorleyParsons has won an engineering and design contract for the Sarita Bay LNG project.

The project, on Vancouver Island in Canada, is a 24 million tonnes per annum production project.

The contract sees WorleyParsons provide preliminary front end engineering and design studies, geotechnical investigations, environmental impact assessments, and approvals support.

Work will begin immediately.

Andrew Wood, WorleyParsons CEO, added that the company has "played a key role in the recently completed preliminary assessment and screening stage and we look forward to continuing our relationship with (Sarita Bay operators) Steelhead LNG and Huu-ay-aht First Nations through the next stage of this project".
