Arrow Energy receives Federal approval for CSG pipeline

The Federal Government has approved Arrow Energy’s EIS for its massive coal seam gas pipeline.

The 580 kilometre long high pressure gas transmission pipeline is designed to connect the Bowen Basin gas fields with the proposed Arrow LNG plant and gas hub in Gladstone, and includes a mainline and three al terals.

As well as the pipeline itself, the EIS includes above ground facilities such as main line valves, scraper stations, cathodic protection systems, worker camps, and support facilities.

According to Arrow the project will generate around $128 million in income for the region, and indirectly inject nearly $2.9 billion into the Australian economy.

Arrow Energy welcomed this latest round of approvals.

"The proposed pipeline is a key piece of infrastructure in our plans to bring to market our significant gas reserves in the Bowen Basin," Arrow Energy CEO Andrew Faulkner said.

The Queensland Resources Council also congratulated Arrow Energy, with QRC CEO Michael Roche adding that the “development of Arrow’s significant Bowen Basin gas reserves would create more than 1500 construction jobs and 700 permanent jobs for Queenslanders”.
