NORD Drivesystems awarded for sustainability

NORD Drivesystems has received the silver EcoVadis sustainability certificate and is rated well above the industry average.

NORD was assessed by the rating agency EcoVadis. The drive specialist achieved 68 out of 100 points and was awarded the silver sustainability certificate. The company improved compared to previous years and is well above the industry average.

“In the combined assessment, we rank among the top four per cent of the manufacturer group assessed by EcoVadis,” NORD head of marketing Jörg Niermann said. “This positive development is also a result of our sustainability strategy.”

In the environment category, Getriebebau NORD GmbH & Co. KG from Bargteheide reached the top one per cent. In the sustainable procurement division, the company ranked among the best 11 per cent of the assessed companies.

Expansion of the sustainability activities

“Our aim is to harmonise economic efficiency and sustainability,” Niermann said.

“Based on our company policy, we act with integrity and responsibility for the environment – locally and globally.”

Since 2021, NORD has been reporting its sustainability activities according to the German Sustainability Code.

NORD is currently establishing a sustainability network within the 10 largest subsidiaries. From 2025, there will be an international sustainability report, which will contain the key figures of all subsidiaries.

In the fields of quality and environment, the company works according to certified ISO management standards. Furthermore, the company signed the UN Global Compact and follows the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
