The 2021 Australian Mining Prospect Awards are just around the corner, with the industry’s leading companies and innovators to be celebrated for another year.
Given the current COVID-19 climate, the Australian Mining Prospect Awards have never been more important, offering valuable recognition for organisations navigating unprecedented times and an unprecedented landscape.
Nominations for the Prospect Awards are open until Friday August 20, while the awards night is set to return to an in-person event in 2021 after being presented through print and digital means in 2020.
Events manager Lauren Winterbottom says the Australian Mining Prospect Awards serve an important purpose for emerging and established companies to be recognised for their success.
“The Australian Mining Prospect Awards are important to the industry because they promote the celebration of innovation and excellence, and new innovations in the industry,” she says.
“One of our main goals is to contribute to growing industries and organisations, and the awards achieve that.”
All 14 awards that underpinned the 2020 Australian Mining Prospect Awards are back again this year, including Australian Mine of the Year – sponsored by National Group, the Lifetime Achievement Award – sponsored by Liebherr, the Safety Advocate of the Year Award – sponsored by Flexco, the Indigenous Engagement Award, and the Innovative Mining Solution Award – sponsored by Austmine.
The Australian Mining Prospect Awards are considered the most prestigious awards of their kind in Australia, which is evident by the sponsors who support the Awards and the organisations nominated and recognised as part of the occasion.
“The Awards are well respected across the industry,” Winterbottom says. “I think that’s reflected in the companies that sponsor the Awards, and those that we see nominating.”
If you’re a mine, company or project who hasn’t nominated in the Australian Mining Prospect Awards before, the process is easy. Nominations can be submitted online.
“The Prospect Awards are really the industry’s ‘night of nights’. We’re especially excited to see everyone at the Awards dinner once again, after the difficulties of the past year with various restrictions in place,” says Winterbottom.
The 2021 Australian Mining Prospect Awards will be presented on Thursday October 14 at The Greek Club in Brisbane.
