WorleyParsons has been awarded a contract for the construction of three bridges connecting the four platforms and two flare booms at Statoil’s Johan Sverdrup project in Norway.

The three year contract is valued at $95 million.

Johan Sverdrup is one of the largest crude discoveries on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, with oil production expected to begin in late 2019.

It is expected to reach peak production in 2024 enabling heavy crude supply in Europe to reach one million barrels; outstripping demand of only 600,000 barrels.

Andrew Wood, CEO of WorleyParsons said, “We are very pleased to extend our relationship with Statoil as a key supplier for the Johan Sverdrup project.”
