Worker suing UGL after being injured

A boilermaker is suing UGL for close to $2 million after being injured at the Ensham coal mine.

The tradie, Dale Cameron Goody, tripped on a wire feeder that had been placed behind him while he was cutting steel on a workbench, according to The Morning Bulletin.

As he fell he threw the steel piece he was carrying, landing heavily and fracturing his ankle.

Goody claims that even after three surgeries he still suffers from the injury, which has left him incapable of working as a boilermaker.

He stated that the accident and his injury was due to the negligence of UGL Operations, his employer at the time.

Goody is seeking damaged of $1 987 899, the Morning Bulletin reports.

UGL has reportedly declined to comment with the matter currently before the courts.
