Worker dies at Tropicana project

A worker has been found dead at the Tropicana gold project on Sunday night.

The employee of mining contractor Macmahon Holdings was off
shift at the time, and it is understood that he died in his sleep.

Macmahon CEO Ross Warren said the company was focussed on
providing counselling support to the family and workers on site.

“We are very saddened by the news,” he said.

“Counselling services have been made available to all who
have been affected by the incident.”

Macmahon is currently engaged in a 10-year contract for
services at Tropicana, which is a joint venture between AngloGold Ashanti and Iendependnce
Group.
