Fortescue’s Pilbara iron ore operations director David Woodall has left the company.
Woodall announced he was stepping down from his position on Friday, according to The West.
He has been in the role for less than a year, after stepping in to replace former head Jamie Frankcombe in January thisyear.
Frankcombe had also only worked in the position for 12 months.
It is unknown what precipitated Woodall’s move, although the company stated the he left “to pursue other opportunties”, adding that he had been “instrumental in improving our technical and mine planning areas”.
Fortescue chief Nev Power sated that “a process is under way to fill his position”.
