Phosphate hopeful Minemakers Ltd has started marketing its product and lodged a notice of intent for mining at its Wonarah project in the Northern Territory.

The company said on Wednesday that it had received positive responses for the Wonarah phosphate from some potential customers and had dispatched samples for them to conduct testwork.

Minemakers has also lodged a notice of intent for mining, which is an appraisal of potential environmental and social impacts of the Wonarah operation, to the relevant regulatory authorities in Darwin.

The company expects the production of phosphate, a fertiliser ingredient, to start in the second quarter of calendar 2010.
