The Weird & Wonderful World of Mining edition two has been released by Mining IQ and focuses on some of the lesser known, fun facts about the industry.
Mining IQ has asked readers to submit their favourite, weirdest and most interesting facts, statistics, and records about the world of mining and have compiled an E-book with the information they received.
Mining IQ says that they wanted to look at the lighter side of the mining industry.
Some gems we came across include that 0.02% of Australian land mass is used by mines with pubs occupying more land.
And apparently police were first referred to as ‘cops’ because of the buttons on their uniforms.
