
A man has died after he was struck by a coal train in the Upper Hunter on Saturday night.
Police said initial information points to a case of misadventure, with the accident occurring at 1:30am on Sunday morning near Scone.
A 29-year old man was found dead at the scene when police arrived, and the driver of the train was subjected to mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
Police said footage of the incident is being sought from the train operator to determine a sequence of events.
