Watpac wins new gold mine contract

Watpac has been awarded the contract for Ramelius Resources' newly approved Kathleen Valley gold mine.

The contract has been valued at $17 million, and will see Watpac carry out the surface mining works, including topsoil removal, load an haul, drill and blast, and dewatering.

Work will be carried out at the operation's Mossbecker and Yellow Aster pits, over a 12 month period.

"This is Watpac's third project with Ramelius and is testament to our approach of working closely with our clients," Watpac managing director Martin Monro said.

The Kathleen Valley gold mine was given the greenlight late last week to begin mining at the site.
