Emerson Stewart has received a new $5 million contract from BHP Billiton Nickel West in the northern goldfields of Western Australia.
Emerson will provide engineering procurement and construction management services to BHP for the upgrade of a new dry mess facility to be established for mining personnel at the Leinster Nickel Operation.
The current dry mess facility is at full capacity, catering for fly in fly out employees, and serving up to 2850 meals a day.
The new mess facility will be capable of serving over 3000 meals per day when the mine is at its operational peak.
“We are happy to be working with Nickel West on the upgrade of its facilities at Leinster,” Emerson Stewart managing director Dario Amara said.
“This contract further reflects our ability to provide quality services within the mining industry.”
The new facility is expected to be completed by the middle of 2009.
