Viento wins Fortescue Metals pipeline contract

Viento has won a contract to build a pipeline for Fortescue Metals' North Star magnetite project.

The contract, worth $9.8 million, is a joint venture between Viento and Kimberley Pipelines.

Work is slated for completion in November.

Speaking on the win, Viento executive director John Silverthorne said "the pipeline construction works on the North Star magnetite project expands the range of services provided to Fortescue".

"We look forward to the opportunity to work with Kimberley on our first project together under the new joint venture agreement and continuing to build our partnership with Fortescue."

The win follows on from the completion of the Rail Mainline Batter Stabilisation Package; the AP5 Preconstruction and Maintenance project at Anderson Point, Port Hedland; and ongoing operations at Solomon and Cloudbreak.
