Energy services provider Valmec has secured several service and construction contracts for prominent gas and infrastructure projects, primarily for work on the APA Group’s Yamarna gas pipeline in the Eastern Goldfields, Western Australia.
The 198-kilometre Yamarna pipeline is crucially integrated with the Gruyere gold project in the Yamarna greenstone belt, for which it supplies gas power. The Gruyere gold project, a joint venture between Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources, last month secured a $400 million contract with mining giant Downer EDI.
Valmec’s contract work for the APA Group will include the construction, fabrication and installation of metering and delivery stations; civil construction work for the Dampier Bunbury pipeline, which is owned and operated by DBP and runs near the full length of Western Australia from top to tip; and infrastructure services work for CBH’s Mirambeena project outside of Albany.
Valmec called the contracts a “testament to the company’s broad range of execution capabilities, as well as its growing prominence in the gas sector”.
