UGL wins BHP Pilbara contracts

UGL has won a $99.45 million contract for work at BHP Billiton's Jimblebar iron ore mine.

Under this contract UGL will provide the fabrication and installation of equipment associated with coarse ore stockpiles, secondary crushing, scalping and screening, and conveyors.

It mobilised operations in July.

Richard Leupen, UGL's CEO, said the company is "delighted to have secured this contract for project delivery in the resources sector.

"UGL has a long history in the iron ore industry having been a participant in many of the major iron ore development and expansion projects in WA since the early 1980s.

Last month BHP awarded AusGroup a $48 million contract for the structural, mechanical, and piping works for the inflow circuit of the plant.
