A train carrying iron ore from Portman Limited’s Koolyanobbing operation has derailed inside the Esperance Port boundary.

A train carrying iron ore from Portman Limited’s Koolyanobbing operation has derailed inside the Esperance Port boundary.

No other trains were involved in the accident and no injuries were sustained.

The derailment, which occurred at low speed, resulted in two locomotives and six wagons leaving the tracks.

Investigations are underway by relevant authorities with representatives from Portman, Australian Railroad Group (ARG), WestNet Rail and the Esperance Port Authority in attendance.

Neither shipping nor mining activities were affected by the incident.
