Kairos makes gold nugget discovery in Pilbara

Kairos Minerals has recovered 223 gold nuggets totalling 656 grams (12.1 ounces) of gold from a newly identified area at the Croydon project in the Pilbara.

The area is two kilometres south of an initial nugget patch discovered in 2018 and covers an area of 700 metres by 200 metres. Read more…

Leading WA contractors secure $250m of Rio Tinto work

Rio Tinto has awarded $250 million worth of contracts to BGC Contracting and Monadelphous Group for work at the Robe River Joint Venture’s West Angelas iron ore mine in the Pilbara.

In 2018, Rio Tinto approved a $579 million investment alongside JV partners Mitsui & Co and Nippon Steel to develop Deposits C and D at the Western Australian operation. Read more…

Resolute Mining on verge of acquisition proposal

Resolute Mining has entered into a trading halt on the ASX ahead of an announcement relating to a proposed acquisition.

Newcrest targets Tier 1 gold deposits with Encounter

Newcrest Mining and Encounter Resources have gained ground in their series of joint ventures (JV) in Western Australia.

The JV partners have completed heritage surveys at the Aileron JV in the West Arunta district, as well as at the Watts, Selby and Lewis JVs, which cover more than 100 kilometres of strike in the Tanami region. Read more…
