Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions has welcomed Johann Rinnhofer as its Australian chief executive officer as part of a company restructure.
Rinnhofer replaces Andrew Howie as chief executive officer, adding a fresh perspective to the company’s leadership team in Australia, one of its most important mining markets.
An honorary professor at the University for Mining and Metallurgy in Leoben, Austria, Johann also has a degree in mechanical engineering.
He also boasts many years of international management experience in plant engineering, including positions as CEO of Otto Junker, the Austrian Research Centre and an Australian Voest-Alpine Mining and Tunnelling subsidiary.
His most recent position, which he assumed in 2015, was CEO of SMS Elotherm.
Thyssenkrupp stated that it “(looks) forward to the ideas, expertise and leadership that Johann will bring to thyssenkrupp and are confident that his experience will be a great asset to thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (Australia).
“We wish Johan every success in his new role,” the company added.
The industrial solutions business area of Thyssenkrupp is a partner for the engineering, construction and service of industrial plants and systems.
It has around 16,000 employees worldwide, supplying tailored, turnkey plants and components for customers in the chemical, fertiliser, cement, mining and steel industries.
