“Sudden death” at Reedy Creek camp [Breaking]

Australian Mining has received reports of a death at the APLNG Reedy Creek camp near Yuleba, Queensland.

Roma police attended the Reedy Creek camp on Saturday morning and are presently investigating the sudden death of a worker found in the camp.

An Electrical Trades Union delegate at the camp has said the death was a suicide.

This will be the third CSG worker death in the Surat Basin in three months.

Another resident of the Reedy Creek camp died in a CSG workplace accident on September 15 of this year, after sustaining crush injuries while working on an APLNG pipeline site.

The 29-year old Surfers Paradise man was employed by WDS Limited, a contractor for Origin Energy.

An Ostwald Brothers worker was also found dead in his room at the nearby Eurombah Creek camp on September 12, which led to the arrest of the man’s supervisor on drug supply charges.
